The Snake River Fund was formed in 1999 in an effort to keep the Snake River “fee free.” As the Fund has matured and grown, it has become the voice of the Snake River. One of the few remaining intact riparian ecosystems in the United States, supporting a rare native fishery and diverse wildlife, undiluted by exotic species, the Snake River watershed is one of the jewels of Jackson Hole, a fragile place, worthy of our protection.

Our vision.

It is our vision that the Snake River watershed will remain a vibrant and diverse ecosystem for many generations to come to enjoy in a responsible manner. Snake River fund is guided by the four pillars of our mission: Access, Stewardship, Education and Partnerships.

– Our Priorities –

Our voluntary, donation-based organization funds educational programs for kids, protect/restore fisheries, enhance public access, promote safer boating culture, prevent aquatic invasive species, campaign for Snake River headwaters and more through:

Access
Snake River Fund is dedicated to promoting public access to the Snake River watershed; from helping public agencies fund needed boat ramp repairs and special training to keeping the communities favorite river recreation locales public.
Stewardship
Snake River Fund works as a steward of the Snake River watershed in Wyoming to protect and preserve it’s ecosystem and biodiversity for current and future generations. The Snake is among a tiny fraction of U.S. rivers special enough for Wild & Scenic protection.
Education
Snake River Fund shares the wonders of the river and it tributaries with all ages. Our popular educational programs allow kids, students, river guides and the general public to learn about the Snake River
Partnerships
Snake River Fund connects people for the benefit of the river and community. The Fund has a unique ability to leverage any contribution for great impact. Our secret is strong partnerships and a solution-oriented approach.
