This course aims to empower participants with essential swiftwater rescue skills and foster confidence on the river. By increasing women’s representation in river safety and rescue, we contribute to a more inclusive and resilient outdoor community. While participation rates have grown, women are still underrepresented in areas like whitewater boating and extreme adventures. Addressing this requires efforts to ensure equitable access, dismantle stereotypes, and promote a sense of belonging for all individuals, including those with intersecting identities.
We also recognize that there might be men in our community facing significant social or economic barriers to accessing this type of training. If this applies to you, please don’t hesitate to reach out—we’re here to support everyone in building a safer river community.
