Bridger-Teton River User Fee System Now In Effect
After a two-year process involving planning and public comment, Bridger-Teton National Forest (BTNF) has established its river user fee program as of May 1st, 2025 to address increased maintenance and personnel costs on a reach of river that has experienced greater visitation almost every year for the past three decades.
Whether employing watercraft or just parking to fish or walk along the riverbank, users are required to pay $5.00 per vehicle per day – or a season pass for $40.00 – if using ramps at Astoria, Pritchard Landing, Elbow, West Table, East Table, and Sheep Gulch. Larger groups – 16 participants or more – are charged $3.00 per day and per launch.
Passes for individual users can be purchased at electronic kiosks located at boat ramps once they are installed. Until then, purchases can be made online HERE. Large groups MUST purchase a special use permit HERE. Launch times can be reserved online as well.
Due to limited connectivity in Snake River Canyon, BTNF asks those purchasing a pass online to do so prior to arrival at their access of choice.
